ALDI Bagged Salad Recall News – ALDI, in cooperation with Fresh Express Inc., has removed Little Salad Bar Garden Salad from certain stores due to possible exposure to Cyclospora and with regard to the ongoing multi-state bagged salad Cyclospora outbreak. Hy-Vee, Inc. has also issued a recall for its bagged salad product.
ALDI Bagged Salad Recall Information
On June 23, 2020, ALDI announced a recall of its Little Salad Bar Garden Salad due to a potential exposure to Cyclospora.
ALDI’s bagged salad recall affects all products codes of ALDI Little Salad Bar Garden Salads with use by dates of May 16 to July 4. The affected products were distributed in the following states between May 1 and June 19:
- Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin
Consumers are advised to discard the affects bagged salad immediately.
Cyclospora Information
Per the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), Cyclospora infects the small intestine (bowel) and usually causes watery diarrhea, with frequent, sometimes explosive, bowel movements. Other common symptoms include loss of appetite, weight loss, stomach cramps/pain, bloating, increased gas, nausea, and fatigue. Vomiting, body aches, headache, fever, and other flu-like symptoms may be noted.
