Following the discovery of Listeria monocytogenes in a sample taken from a package of Bonduelle USA frozen corn, Bonduelle USA Inc. has issued a widespread recall. To date 9,335 cases of frozen corn have been recalled. Whil31 the contaminated product was originally found in Tennessee, potentially dangerous frozen cut corn products were distributed to stores in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, Mississippi and Louisiana.
The affected frozen cut corn products were distributed in poly bags under the following labels and codes:

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimate that there are 1,591 cases of foodborne listeriosis, resulting in 255 deaths, in the U.S. each year. Newborns, pregnant women, older adults, and those individuals with weakened immune systems are at greatest risk for developing listeriosis. Although less common, individuals not belonging to one of these high risk groups can also contract listeriosis.
