This recall includes all expiration dates, package sizes, package types, and lots. The affected products come in various sizes in air pack and vacuum packages, with lot number or sell by dates on the back of the package. The affected Banner Smoked Fish products were distributed to retailers, distributors, and online in the following twenty (20; up from 17 on June 2) states: Arizona, California, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Virginia, Washington, and Wisconsin.

About Listeria

Listeria is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.

If you think you have been exposed to Listeria, please contact your health care provider.
