On June 9, 2020, the FDA issued a statement stating that the enoki mushrooms outbreak appears to be over. This outbreak was associated with enoki mushrooms and several companies (Sun Hong Foods, Inc., Guan’s Mushroom Co., and H&C Food Inc.) recalled their products over the multi-state outbreak investigation.

Listeria monocytogenes, is a type of bacterium that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection (listeriosis) can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
