Homestead Creamery Unsalted Butter Recall Information
On April 17, 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published Homestead Creamery’s April 1, 2020 recall announcement as to its unsalted butter due to possible
Listeria contamination. The recalled unsalted butter was distributed via Homestead Creamery’s home delivery service, retail stores, and distribution partners.
The affected unsalted butter comes in half pound, plastic packages marked with an expiration date of 04/30.
The potential
Listeria contamination was revealed during testing by Homestead Creamery. The production of Homestead Creamery’s unsalted butter has been suspended while the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services continue to investigate the source of the issue.
Consumers who have purchased Homestead Creamery’s unsalted butter with the 04/30 expiration date are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
