Hy-Vee Salad Recall Expansion Information
On June 29, 2020, Hy-Vee announced an expansion of their previous recall to now include 12 additional salads across its eight-state region due to the potential that they may be contaminated with Cyclospora. This recall notice comes after Fresh Express expanded their recall, and as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) continue to investigate the Cyclospora outbreak in the Midwest section of the U.S.
The newly recalled 12 salad products are in addition to the 12 oz. Hy-Vee Bagged Garden Salad product that Hy-Vee pulled last week after initial notification of the FDA, CDC, and Fresh Express investigation. Hy-Vee now has 13 private label bagged salad products (all expiration dates) that are being recalled as a result of the ongoing investigation and outbreak.
