NOW Real Food Raw Macadamia Nuts Recall News – NOW Health Group, Inc. (NOW), of Bloomingdale, IL, has initiated a recall for its NOW Real Food Raw Macadamia Nuts due to a possible Salmonella contamination.
Raw Macadamia Nuts Recall Information
On June 12, 2020, NOW issued a recall for its NOW Real Food Raw Macadamia Nuts, unsalted and in an 8oz. pouch, due to a potential Salmonella contamination. The recalled raw macadamia nuts have a product code of 7119 and Lot number of 3141055. These raw macadamia nuts have a “best by” date of 01/2021. The affected product was distributed online and via retail stores nationwide.
Consumers who purchased the raw macadamia nuts included in this recall should not eat them and can return them to point of purchase for a full refund.
About Salmonella
Common symptoms of salmonellosis (Salmonella infection) may include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, and fever within 12 to 72 hours after eating a contaminated food product. Illness usually lasts from about 4 to 7 days. Most people recover without treatment, however, the diarrhea may be so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. Older adults, infants, and persons with weakened immune systems are more likely to develop a severe illness.
