The affected onions were sold at West Coast Trader Joe’s (red onions were sold in Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah) and Ralph’s (yellow onions sold in California).  Onions associated with this recall were sold loose in bulk bins.  Affected red onions have a PLU sticker with the brand name “Pacific Gold.”

Retailers that received the recalled onions from Progressive Produce have been instructed to remove any affected product from their shelves and to dispose of any product that is remaining in their inventory.  Consumers who have purchased recalled products are urged not to consume them and to dispose of them immediately.  Alternatively, they can return them to the store for a full refund.
