Upon routine testing by a contracted private laboratory, Salmonella contamination was found in the 2 lb. packages of Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces. In response, Sincerely Nuts Inc. recalled these nut products.
Symptoms of Salmonella infection may include diarrhea (sometimes bloody), abdominal cramps, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, and joint pain. Symptoms usually appear 6 to 72 hours after the ingestion of contaminated food.
While most people recover within 4 to 7 days, diarrhea and vomiting may become so severe that the patient needs to be hospitalized. The elderly, infants, and those with impaired immune systems are more likely to suffer severe salmonellosis symptoms and its complications.

The affected Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole and Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces were distributed nationwide via online sales through the company’s website from June 16, 2015 through August 10, 2015, and at www.amazon.com.
The recalled product was packed in clear, flexible plastic packages, bearing these details respectively:
• Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Whole: sold in 1 lb., 2 lb. and 5 lb. packages Lot Number T7R1A22045 and EXPIRES: 1/2016 stamped on the back label
• Sincerely Nuts Macadamia Nuts (Raw) Unsalted Halves and Pieces: come in 2 lb. packages EXPIRES: 11/2015 stamped on the back label (there is no lot code) New product will have a lot number
