The FDA identified the presence of Mycobacterium chelonae, Microbacterium organisms, and the molds Cryptococcus albidus and members of the Penicillium genus in the inks. Exposure to these microorganisms may lead to infection.
The tattoo inks were sold nationwide by A Thousand Virgins Corp., and by international and online distributors.
