Our firm currently represents victims of the Arby’s, Peter Pan brand peanut butter, Veggie Booty, and Taste of Chicago Salmonella food poisoning outbreaks.

ConAgra Foods announced yesterday, that it is recalling all varieties of Banquet brand pot pies and store brand pot pies. All varieties, including chicken, turkey and beef frozen pot pie products, of the following brands are subject to this recall:

  • Albertson’s
  • Banquet
  • Food Lion
  • Great Value            (Sold at Wal-Mart)
  • Hill Country Fare     (Sold at HEB)
  • Kirkwood                (Sold at Aldi’s)
  • Kroger
  • Meijer
  • Western Family

The recalled frozen pot pies are labeled with establishment number “P-9” or “Est. 1059” printed on the side of the package.

Due to the long product shelf life, these products may still be in consumers' freezers.  Consumers should check their freezers for the recalled pot pies

Earlier this week the United States Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a public health safety alert warning consumers not to eat certain ConAgra manufactured products and stating that the CDC had linked the pot pies to a Salmonella outbreak which had sickened 139 individuals in 30 states. At the same time, ConAgra halted production of the pot pies in its Marshall, Missouri, manufacturing plant.

On October 11, the CDC reported a total of 165 cases of Salmonella food poisoning connected with the recalled pot pies. Cases had been identified in 31 states between January 1, 2007, and October 11, 2007. The CDC also stated that at least 30 people had been hospitalized, but no deaths had been reported.
